Birth of NEXT

Welcome to our journey! I’m sure there’s a few of y’all scrolling through the site just trying to figure out “What is NEXT?” and "What can it do for me?” With that being said, this first post is going to hopefully clear any of that up! I apologize in advance for the length of this one - this will more than likely be our longest one and the only one without any applicable research.

The Beginning. I have always been a fitness enthusiast and had the luxury of playing five years of college football (Up Northern Wolves), but during a physical therapy clinical rotation is when I began to fully understand the unlimited potential of strength training and its role in rehabilitation. Major shoutout to Billy McClenahan, Josh Ellis, and the rest of the folks at PRIMe, as well as Savana Melland with True North, all located in Bozeman, MT. Could not recommend these folks enough to anyone in the area looking for top of the line physical therapy or just looking to train. These guys were major catalysts in getting my career going in the right direction, and I cannot thank them enough.

Once I began to hone in on the craft of programming workouts, I started to realize a lot of folks aren’t really stuck on how to do the exercises. Most are actually super comfortable on that front. Where they run into issues is when they are forced to figure out what exercises to do in order to reap the most benefits. Now the saying goes that there is no bad exercise, and I firmly believe that, but there are some that are better than others based on what the goal is. But which exercises are right for me? That’s where NEXT comes in.

Now, you can do a quick Google search for exercises programs, and will get a million different options. Unfortunately, 99% of them are BS. Either they are made by people with no real fitness background (or put in the time to stay up-to-date with the latest research) or they are bound to break the bank. Our vision is to provide you with the structure you need in order to be successful in your health and fitness journey, without the hassle or price tag that comes with some of the other guys. We are a small business in terms of our attitude towards our clients. We aren’t going to sell you something and then turn our backs on you. We want to make a program tailored specifically to you, and then be with you every step of the way. So much so, that you might actually contemplate blocking our phone number. We pride ourselves on our loyalty and consistent engagement with our clients. From day one, YOUR goals become OUR goals. And your next step, should be reaching out to see how we can help you achieve those goals.

Still a little skeptical? Damn, you’re a tough one to convince. But that’s a good thing, because if we still have you reading then we must have said something you liked. What really sets us apart from the rest here at NEXT, is our accessibility. We are everywhere and nowhere all at once. One good skill we have probably all acquired over the past few years has been telecommunication. We plan to use that to our advantage. For those not in the St. Louis (or Sioux Falls, SD and southwest Wisconsin) area, we will be checking in with you at a weekly minimum. We will utilize Zoom, FaceTime, phone call, text message, pony express, whatever it takes to be there for you when you need us. And for those fortunate souls located in the areas I just mentioned, well you guys have the option to get us in-person as well.

That’s our pitch. High quality, budget friendly fitness training (and physical therapy consultations) from licensed professionals, crafted with the latest research and personalization. So, enough reading - let’s get to work. Welcome to NEXT.

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support from friends, family, and previous clients. You all are the reason I have been working on making this business more accessible to the public. And a special shoutout to my side-kick, Emma, for being the glue that holds this whole deal together. From putting up with late nights working, to be a model for our exercise videos, I could not have done this without you. Thank you to all of you, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for this business that has already brought success stories to so many.

Stay tuned for monthly blogs regarding fitness topics that you guys request. Each blog will be posted on the first of every month, and will be backed with research and contain several other links related to the topic.
